Go to the gate of anguish mission and you can trade 5 to the collector for a superior salvage kit then sell it to the merchant for 1k.

the point is its a collector item which is a quest reward JUST like battle commendations/kournan coins/trade contracts....

If someone can't be bothered to follow the link and read the article then they don't deserve to be answered. Everything you could possibly want to know about ancient artifacts is listed there.

Actually, you trade them at the gate of desolation. They are given as quest rewards for the desolation.
